The Sunday Show: Recovering Corrupt Assets Four Years After Yanukovych Ouster

The former Ukrainian government led by president Viktor Yanukovych was corrupt. Today hardly anyone doubts that fact or the reasons for freezing various assets around the world belonging to that government’s members.

But how much has been done in the last four years by Ukraine to recover these assets?

Mezhyhirya Fest, now in its fifth year, is a festival that brings together the best investigative journalists from around the world. It got its name from Mezhyhirya, the luxurious estate where Yanukovych used to live before he fled the country.

Taking place on June 9-10 this year, Mezhyhirya Fest boasted guests like OCCRP’s co-founder Drew Sullivan, Transparency International’s Rachel Davies,and acclaimed British author and journalist Oliver Bullough.
