The West Guilty of Sleepwalking Into Ukraine Crisis - Chatham House

The West failed to devise a robust strategy when it came to the Ukraine crisis, said Orysia Lutsevych, a fellow with Chatham House in the United Kingdom. They were sleepwalking with the hope that somehow Russian aggression in Ukraine would stop by itself.

According to Lutsevych, the West also underestimated the pro-European sentiment within Ukraine and that Ukrainians would have desire to put up such a strong-willed resistance to Russian pressures.
