Trudeau's visit to Kyiv
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Kyiv on the morning of June 10 for an unannounced visit. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with him and welcomed the Canadian leader to Ukraine.
"Despite all Russia's attempts to break our nation, Ukrainians continue to fight for independence and freedom. And in our victory, we will be just as united as we are now on our path to protect lives and people," Zelenskyy said.
According to Ukrinform, the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada has announced that Canada is allocating an additional 500 million Canadian dollars ($373 million) in military aid to Ukraine.
Advancement of Armed Forces
Ukrainian defense forces have advanced up to 1.4 kilometers in various areas of the Bakhmut axis over the past 24 hours, reports Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to him, the enemy is actively defending in the area of Bakhmut, firing at Ukrainian units. In particular, Russians fired 330 times with cannon and rocket artillery over the last day, and launched eight air strikes. There were also six battles, during which Ukrainians killed 138 and wounded 236 enemy troops, and took one more prisoner. In addition, the Defense Forces destroyed Russian equipment.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Defense Forces' counteroffensive defense actions are already underway.
"From my point of view, counteroffensive defensive actions are taking place in Ukraine. At what stage - I will not say in detail. I think we will feel it," he said.
Death of couple in Orikhiv
On June 10, Russian troops shelled the frontline town of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhya Oblast, killing a husband and wife, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
PGO says that during another attack on Orikhiv, a Russian shell hit a private house. As a result, the couple, who were in the yard, were killed. In addition, a 77-year-old local resident was wounded in a Russian attack on the village of Preobrazhenka.
Night attack on Odesa Oblast
The attack on Odesa Oblast in the early hours of June 10 has left three dead and more than 30 injured with varying degrees of severity. Among the victims are four children, the National Police reported.
In particular, in one of Odesa's residential districts, three people were killed by shelling; 25 others, including two children, were injured. In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, a missile hit and the fall of the debris of downed missiles occurred at night. Six people were injured, including two minors, and 22 private houses were damaged.
