Ukraine Establishes Joining NATO As State Priority

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law establishing integration to NATO as one of the state's main priorities. Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, already approved the bill about making joining NATO a strategic priority on June 8, 2017.

"The document established integration into the Euroatlantic security alliance with the aim of becoming a NATO member," says the statement from the President's press-service.

It also adds that for this purpose Ukraine will undertake all the struggles necessary to finish reforms in all spheres, including security and defense.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg along with a delegation of the North Atlantic Council consisting of 29 delegates from member countries and members of the international Secretariat and the military headquarters of the Alliance will visit Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, on July 9-10.
