Ukraine Gas Negotiator: Biggest Problem is We Can't Trust Gazprom

Discussions between Ukraine's Naftogaz and Russia's Gazprom are stymied by a lack of trust on both sides, said Olena Zerkal, the Deputy Minister of European Integration and the point person for negotiations between Gazprom and Naftogaz.

Having members of the European Union present at the talks has been an essential part of making sure both Russian and Ukrainian negotiators are willing to compromise and devise a functional gas deal.
