Ukrainian Parliamentary Fleet Of Cars Finally Available To Media

Dorohi Deputaty, a Hromadske and OPORA project aimed at monitoring Ukrainian MPs and to ensure their accountability (Dear MPs – a play on words, "dorohi" means both "dear" and "expensive"), took a tour of the parliamentary garage, previously inaccessible to journalists, where nearly two hundred cars are kept for the use of Ukrainian MPs. It turned out to be more than just a garage but a vast government-funded operation with an in-house mechanics, a dining room with Soviet prices, beds, and a gas station which even had the much cheaper 2014 petrol prices.
