The Ukrainian military destroyed two more Russian warehouses and equipment in the south; President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted "good news" on the southern front and heavy fighting in Donbas. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.
Successes of the Armed Forces in the south
The Ukrainian military destroyed two Russian ammunition depots in Muzikyvka and Nova Kakhovka on August 13, 15 enemy troops, a T-72 tank, and four more units of armored and automotive vehicles of the Russian army. The final losses of the occupiers are being investigated.
Operational Command "South" notes that the situation in the operational zone of the Pivdennyi Buh axis remains difficult, but under control. Russians continue to fight along the occupied border, giving preference to distant warfare — rocket and artillery fire and airstrikes.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the "good news" regarding the destruction of the personnel and equipment of the Russian occupiers on the southern front. At the same time, heavy fighting is going on in Donbas. The hottest points of the front on this axis, according to Zelenskyy, are Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Pisky, and Bakhmut.
According to analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War, Russians may change the priorities of the offensive in the northeast of Donetsk Oblast in order to divert the attention of the Ukrainian military from counteroffensive actions in the south of Ukraine.
Grain exports
In less than two weeks, it was possible to export a volume equal to the entire agricultural export by road for July and more than two-thirds of the export by rail for the past month from three southern ports of Ukraine — Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a total of 16 ships with grain for 7 countries on three continents have left Ukrainian ports.
Amnesty wants its report verified
The international human rights organization Amnesty International wants independent experts to check the process of compiling its report that the Ukrainian military is allegedly endangering the civilian population while trying to repel the Russian invaders.
The organization wants to initiate an "international level" verification of its report. It will concern checking the processes and decisions that preceded the publication of the press release, the process of preparing the material, as well as about the legal and political analysis of the report.
