Ukrainian fashion designer Svitlana Bevza has started to produce protective suits for medical workers — for free — due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I hope that it is already clear to everyone that we are on the verge of the growing spread of coronavirus in Ukraine, and we also understand that our medical system is unfortunately not ready for this. That is why the best dressmakers in the city gathered here to make protective coveralls for our health workers,” Bevza said on her Facebook page.
"We do it for free because it is our civic duty," Bevza added, urging medics to ask for suits. She also urged the public to help and bring materials like nonwoven fabric, gum and invisible zippers to the BEVZA studio.
Subsequently, Bevza noted that 30 volunteers had already agreed to help sew the suits.
