Hromadske's Bohdan Kutiepov went to the New Year's celebration of Orthodox Jews that visit the Ukrainian city of Uman every September. The annual celebration makes the city look like Jerusalem with all advertising in Hebrew and virtually no locals on the street.
Dancing in the streets with weapons amidst piles of trash, thousands of Hasidic Jews pray to the skies in one voice amongst constant shouts of "No Picture!". Many ask not to film them because Rosh Hashanah equates to Shabbat, and electronics are forbidden during the Shabbat.
