Veto on the law on urban planning and reasonable consumption of electricity: last night's highlights
Deputies of local councils call on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to veto the draft law on “urban planning reform”, Ukrainians are asked to consume electricity wisely, and the number of hospitalized patients with COVID—19 has increased in the country. The community councils call for a veto of the law on urban planning
Local councils of small and large communities from most regions of Ukraine called on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to veto the draft law on “urban planning reform”. The document is criticized for “stimulating” unauthorized construction.
In total, 38 local councils from 18 regions of Ukraine signed an appeal to Zelenskyy calling for the veto of draft law No. 5655.
Energy responsibility
Yasno CEO Serhii Kovalenko said that the stability of the energy system is currently quite fragile. It is affected not only by the occupiers' attacks but also by consumption. Power engineers urge people to be energy responsible.
Kovalenko asked citizens not to plug in everything in the apartment at once, especially now, when everyone is preparing to celebrate the holidays.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is growing
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 increased by 14% in Ukraine during the week. Over the past week, almost 3 thousand patients were admitted to hospitals.
Chief Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin noted that the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 has decreased, although vaccines are now available in sufficient quantities.
Assistance from partners
During a government meeting, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that during 10 months of full-scale war Ukraine managed to attract more than $31 billion from international partners.
Another almost UAH 200 billion was raised from the sale of military bonds.
Ukraine is provided with food
Ukraine has provided itself with food for the next year: despite the war, farmers managed to harvest more than 60 million tons of crops.
Shmyhal stated that during 10 months of the war the state had given UAH 80 billion to 38 thousand farmers.
Occupiers have kidnapped more than 30 mayors
Chairman of the Association of Ukrainian Cities and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the occupiers have abducted more than 30 mayors of Ukrainian cities. Seven mayors are still missing.
According to Klitschko, the occupants tried to arrest the mayors and persuade them to cooperate.
Modernized electric train
For the first time, Ukrzaliznytsia has modernized the Ukrainian electric train EPL9T at its own facilities. After the overhaul, the cars have bicycle racks and inclusive toilets.
In addition, each main car of the train now has ramps. Also, seats for passengers were arranged on the train.
