Visit of NATO delegation, attack on Kyiv, and defense package from Estonia: highlights of March 21

Russia massively attacked Kyiv with missiles for the first time in more than 40 days. A NATO delegation arrives in Ukraine for the first time since the start of the full—scale war. Russian attack
Ukrainian air defense destroyed 31 missiles used by the Russian Federation to attack Ukraine on the night of March 21. The attack targeted the capital.
As a result of the attack, 13 people were injured and infrastructure was damaged in Kyiv. Also in the capital, the film studio where the films Dovbush and The Guide were shot was damaged. The shelling also caused injuries in the Kyiv region — 4 people.
Intelligence reports that the attack targeted the facilities of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

NATO delegation in Ukraine
A NATO delegation headed by the Chairman of the Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, arrived in Ukraine for an official visit. It was the first visit by a NATO military delegation since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Bauer said that his visit was evidence that “NATO and Ukraine are closer than ever”. In particular, he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Help from Estonia
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, who arrived in Ukraine, announced a new aid package worth 20 million euros. In particular, it includes 155 mm artillery shells, anti-tank guns, explosives, gas masks, and sniper equipment.
Strike on Mykolaiv
On the afternoon of March 21, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Mykolaiv. The occupiers hit an industrial enterprise.
There are six known casualties, all of them employees of the enterprise. One woman was killed.

Helicopters from the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic has handed over the last Mi-24 helicopters to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The Czech government approved the delivery of the Soviet-era helicopters two weeks ago as a gift. The Ministry of Defense noted that the country “no longer has any equipment that could be transferred”.

Case against former head of Kyiv City State Administration Popov and dispersal of Maidan closed
On March 21, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv closed the case against the former head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Oleksandr Popov, for his involvement in the dispersal of protesters on Maidan Nezalezhnosti on the night of November 30, 2013.
This decision was made due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

Real estate of the Antimonopoly Committee Chairman's family
Journalists of the Schemes project found out that relatives of the wife of Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, purchased real estate and cars worth more than UAH 70 million in 2020-2023. At that time, the official was the head of the Donetsk regional administration.
In a comment to Skhemy, Kyrylenko said that the source of his wealth was the family's start-up capital. At the same time, journalists claim that the family's official income would not have been enough to purchase this property.
