Weapons production with the Americans and Kolomoisky’s lawsuit against Zelenskyy: highlights for December 7

Ukraine and the United States signed a memorandum on joint production in the defense industry. Businessman Igor Kolomoisky filed a lawsuit against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over his citizenship. Ukrzaliznytsia was able to transport 23 trucks across the Ukrainian—Polish border by train. We have collected the main news for December 7.

Joint weapons production

Ukraine and the United States signed a memorandum on joint production of weapons and exchange of technical data.

In particular, the United States transferred a package of technical data to Ukraine to begin local production of some FrankenSAM projects — Soviet anti-aircraft missile systems that are modernized and adapted for Western missiles.

There is also an agreement on the production of ammunition in Ukraine, primarily 155-mm caliber. However, the implementation of this project will take 2-3 years.

Kolomoisky is suing for citizenship

Businessman Igor Kolomoisky filed a lawsuit against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to declare the decree revoking his citizenship unlawful and cancel it.

In turn, the Supreme Court demands to explain why Kolomoisky addressed this issue so late — almost a year and a half after the decree.

At the same time, the businessman explained this by saying that he learned about the revocation of citizenship only in September 2023, when he read a document about changing the preventive measure in the framework of criminal proceedings against him.

The judges had doubts because the decree revoking Kolomoisky's citizenship received wide publicity in the media almost immediately after its adoption.

Trucks will be transported across the border by trains

Ukrzaliznytsia launched a test contrailer train loaded with 23 Ukrainian trucks, which were blocked from entering Ukraine due to a strike by Polish carriers.

The day before, a video circulated on social networks of Ukrainian trucks loaded on flatbeds moving along the railway.

Ukrzaliznytsia confirmed that this is how Ukrainian exporters are trying to solve the problem of crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border, which is blocked by Polish carriers.

Interest in Armed Forces vacancies is growing

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has received the first results of cooperation with private companies to attract people to the Armed Forces.

The department noted that since the signing of the agreement between the Ministry of Defense and, in particular, the Lobby X company on November 10, more than 320 military vacancies from different units have already been placed on the site. The number of respondents to these vacancies reached 6.5 thousand.

The ministry also signed a cooperation agreement with the recruiting company robota.ua. This is already the third such company.

US promises $10 million for FSB hackers

The United States has imposed sanctions against two hackers, Ruslan Peretyatko and Andrey Korinets, whose activities are sponsored by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

It is noted that the intelligence service was responsible for cyber attacks on US government agencies in 2016. In general, with such cyber activities, the FSB seeks to gain access to accounts, as well as to be able to steal confidential information in the interests of the Kremlin.

The US is now offering up to $10 million in rewards for information leading to the identification of two Russian hackers.

The UK also imposed sanctions against Korinets and Peretyatko. The British government said that the FSB had compromised private conversations of senior officials in the country.
