The Ukrainian chorus The Songs for Ukraine performed in the annual Christmas address of King Charles III.

The speech was published on the royal family's official YouTube channel.

The Ukrainian choir sang a new arrangement of Carol of the Bells, based on Shchedryk by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych, at Westminster Abbey.

“It was a great honor for our chorus to participate in the King's Christmas broadcast. Our chorus remains a powerful voice for the Ukrainian community in the UK, many of whose members have been forced to leave their homes because of the war,” said Bohdan Parashchak, music director and principal conductor of the Songs for Ukraine.

The Royal Opera House founded the Songs for Ukraine chorus in the spring of 2023 in response to the full-scale Russian invasion. It brings together 130 Ukrainians, most of whom were forced to leave their homes because of the war.
