Russian attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses have been stopped, General Syrskyi says

The Ukrainian defenders are fighting fierce battles with the Russian invasion forces, stopping their attempts to break through the defenses, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated in a Telegram post.

He emphasized that the military leadership knows about the enemy's plans and "flexibly responds to all its actions."

"All necessary measures are being taken to strengthen the defense and decisions are being made quickly, including personnel decisions," said the army chief.

Syrskyi said that in Kharkiv Oblast, where the situation escalated this week, fighting continues along the state border.

"The situation is difficult, but the Defense Forces of Ukraine are doing everything to hold defensive lines and positions, inflict damage on the enemy," said the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, "hot battles" continue on the Kupyansk, Siversk, Lyman, Pokrovsk axes. According to Syrskyi, the situation is changing "very dynamically" there. In some areas, the enemy has partial success, in others, the Defense Forces dislodge the occupiers and improve their tactical position.

On the Kramatorsk axis, the Russians do not stop trying to seize the town of Chasiv Yar, continuing their offensive east of the settlement. They are also trying in vain to restore their lost position in the Klishchiyivka area.

Syrskyi noted that the rotation of units for rest is carried out, even despite the difficult situation at the front.
