Ukrainian military hit Russian missile ship Tsiklon during May 19 attack on Crimea

In the early hours of May 19, the Ukrainian military attacked the temporarily occupied Sevastopol. In addition to the Kovrovets minesweeper of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the project 22800 missile ship Tsiklon, reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Tsiklon began to be built in temporarily occupied Kerch in 2016, and was launched in 2020. This ship entered service with the Russian army in 2023. Tsiklon also has eight launchers for Kalibr cruise missiles and supersonic Oniks missiles.
Explosions rang out in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol in the early hours of May 19. The pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported three hits at one location – at one of the ships in the Inzhenerna Bay area of Sevastopol, after which a column of black smoke rose there.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia stated that Ukraine allegedly hit Crimea with American ATACMS missiles and attack drones. Air defense forces of the Russian Federation allegedly shot down nine such missiles and one drone over the occupied peninsula.
