Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he will agree to a "peaceful settlement" of the war if Ukraine refuses to join NATO and gives up four oblasts and Crimea. EU ambassadors approved the framework for negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the bloc. Defense ministers of NATO countries approved the expansion of support to Ukraine. We collected the main news for June 14.

Putin's "peace proposal".

Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that he has new proposals for a "peaceful settlement" of the war against Ukraine. In particular, he demands Kyiv's refusal to join NATO and international recognition of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson oblasts and Crimea as Russian territories.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, responded that such conditions are an ultimatum that cannot be trusted. The head of state also compared Putin's actions with the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine linked Putin's statement with the desire to prevent the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

G7: Russian Federation must pay almost $500 billion to Ukraine

The G7 countries agreed that Russia should pay Ukraine] $486 billion for damages caused as a result of military aggression against it. They also note that Moscow does not have the right to decide whether it will pay for the damage caused to Ukraine, and if so, when.

The framework for negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU was approved

The ambassadors of the European Union approved the framework for negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU.

On June 25, an intergovernmental conference will be held, which will give an official start to the negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU.

NATO agreed on a plan to increase aid to Ukraine

Defense ministers of NATO countries adopted a plan that provides for the expansion of support to Ukraine. In particular, the decision defines how the Alliance will manage the coordination of security assistance and exercises.

However, NATO countries failed to agree on the annual financing of Ukraine at the level of 40 billion euros.

Supreme Court: Military personnel should be punished for disobedience

The Supreme Court ruled that disobedience of a servicemember is a crime and involves criminal liability, even if this disobedience did not lead to socially dangerous consequences.

A contract serviceman appealed his sentence in the Supreme Court: the lower courts sentenced him to five years in prison for refusing to comply with the order of the deputy commander of the brigade and withdraw to the command and observation post. According to the investigation, this could have led to a breakthrough by Russian troops in this area.

A truck with 41 people was stopped at the border

In Odesa, border guards reported the detention of a truck, in the trailer of which 41 men were found. They turned out to be residents of 12 different regions of Ukraine. They allegedly tried to reach the border with Moldova and illegally cross it.

Earlier in Hungary, 32 citizens of Ukraine who crossed the border in Zakarpattya Oblast on a truck were detained.

A mine exploded at the occupied ZNPP

On June 11, one of the mines near the cooling pond exploded at the Zaporizhzhia NPP occupied by Russian troops. IAEA workers reported hearing explosions near the station for several days last week.

The court banned eight pro-Russian organizations

The court satisfied the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice regarding the ban of 8 pro-Russian organizations that were preparing a coup d'état at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. For this, they had to initiate the so-called national assembly in the capital. These associations were coordinated by former MP Viktor Medvedchuk, who is suspected of treason.

Teenagers set fire to the cars of the Armed Forces for the money of the special services of the Russian Federation

Ukrainian law enforcement officers discovered that Russian special services are recruiting teenagers for money to burn the cars of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in order to destabilize the situation in Ukraine.

So, in Odesa, the police found two boys, 13 and 16 years old, who set fire to two cars belonging to military personnel. The teenagers were detained together with two friends aged 16 and 18 during an attempt to set fire to another car.

The Houthis attacked a Ukrainian ship

The Yemeni Houthis attacked the Verben ship in the Gulf of Aden, launching two anti-ship cruise missiles. This is a cargo ship owned by Ukraine, operated by Poland and sailing under the flag of Palau. One wounded sailor was reported.

A bank employee is suspected of stealing 16 million hryvnias

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers charged a 22-year-old bank employee who hid four packages of currency in cash in his backpack and went out for a lunch break. During the calculation on the same day, other employees of the bank discovered a shortage of about 16 million hryvnias.

The suspect in the murder of a Ukrainian woman was detained in Germany

A suspect in the murder of 9-year-old Ukrainian Valeria in Germany was detained in Prague. It is a 36-year-old citizen of Moldova. He was previously wanted on German and European arrest warrants.

Attacks

In Sumy Oblast, a Russian drone attacked a social bus carrying 20 people. Also, in Sumy Oblast, as a result of a Russian strike, one person was killed, and others were injured.

In Kharkiv Oblast, the Russians shelled the town of Kupyansk. As a result of the enemy attack, three people were injured, including policemen. In another settlement of Kharkiv Oblast, a couple found themselves under the rubble of a house due to a Russian airstrike.

A Russian kamikaze drone injured a 17-year-old girl near Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

In Kherson Oblast, the Russians dropped explosives from a drone on a farm, killing a man.
