Orbán's visit to Moscow, new British government, arrival of Patriot: July 5 highlights

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán visited Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. A new Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has been appointed in Britain, and he has already announced who has joined the new government. The third Patriot air defense system from Germany arrived in Ukraine. We collected the main news for July 5.
Orbán in Moscow
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that during his visit to Moscow, he discussed the achievement of peace in Ukraine and the "shortest path" to it with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, after visiting Kyiv and Moscow, he realized that "the positions of the parties are very far from each other."
Before that, the Hungarian Prime Minister asserted that he did not have a mandate for "peace negotiations". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that Hungary decided on the trip of its Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to Moscow without agreement or coordination with Kyiv.

The third Patriot system from Germany
The third Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex from Germany has already arrived in Ukraine.
“[Patriot] will strengthen the protection of the population and infrastructure of the country against aircraft, drones and missiles. In recent months, the Ukrainian crew of the system has successfully undergone appropriate training in Germany," said German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäger.
New government in Britain
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has asked King Charles III to resign after his party lost a snap parliamentary election. He apologized for the loss and called his opponent Keir Starmer "is a decent public spirited man who I respect."
Later, King Charles III of Britain held an audience with Starmer.
The new prime minister has already announced the new members of the government. The Ministry of Defense was headed by John Healey, and the Foreign Secretary is David Lammy. Both recently came to Kyiv and emphasized their support for Ukraine.

Power outage schedules will be canceled for the day
On July 9-24, restrictions on electricity supply will be lifted in turn in all regions of Ukraine. This will be done in order to see how consumers behave when they have constant access to electricity.
Energy experts have already published the schedule for lifting restrictions by region.
Putin has said that Russia wants a "final end" to the war
The head of Russia, Vladimir Putin, claims that he is not simply in favor of a "truce" or "ceasefire", but allegedly for the "complete end" of the war. According to him, for this, Ukraine needs to withdraw its troops from four regions.
Donors call on Biden to withdraw from the election
In the United States, a group of 168 donors, public activists and business leaders sent a private letter to the current president, Joe Biden, urging him to stop participating in the election.
"We respectfully urge you to withdraw from being a candidate for reelection for the sake of our democracy and the future of our nation," the appeal reads.
Many donors to the Democratic Party have already publicly warned that they will stop funding the presidential race if Biden is not replaced.
Personnel changes
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed two Deputy Ministers of Defense to Rustem Umerov: Anatoliy Klochko and Oleksandr Serhiy.
Also, the government dismissed Maryna Kuderchuk from the position of the head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.
Stoltenberg expects Ukraine to join NATO by 2034
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg hopes that Ukraine will become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance in the next 10 years.
On the eve of the NATO summit in Washington, he called for an increase in military aid to Ukraine. The politician emphasized: the stronger this support is, the sooner the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine can end.
The government made a number of decisions regarding Donetsk Oblast
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a government meeting in Donetsk Oblast after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised government officials a "serious conversation" due to their absence from the region.
The premier gave a number of orders, in particular regarding preparations for winter, allocation of funds for shelters in schools and provision of water supply in the region. In addition, the Ministry of Defense should immediately report on the financing of the construction of fortifications according to the schedule.
