Russian leader Vladimir Putin commented for the first time on the situation in Kursk Oblast, where Russia reported a breakthrough by Ukrainian troops. The dictator called it a "large-scale provocation" by Ukraine.
The United States said it would ask Ukraine for an explanation of what was happening on the border of Kursk Oblast. The State Department later said that Kyiv had not discussed the operation with the United States in advance. Now the countries are already talking about it.
At the same time, the European Commission said that under international law, Ukraine "has a legitimate right to defend itself."
Defense Intelligence operation on the Tendra Spit
Overnight, Ukrainian scouts raided the island of Tendra Spit, near the coast of Kherson Oblast, and destroyed Russian equipment there, as well as the fortifications of the Russian troops.
Having completed the task, including the secret part, the military scouts left without casualties.
Azov found out what caused their soldier to die in captivity
According to the results of the forensic medical examination, Oleksandr Ishchenko, a soldier of the Azov Brigade, died as a result of shock caused by multiple rib fractures and closed blunt force trauma to the chest.
The deputy commander of Azov, Svyatoslav (Kalyna) Palamar, called on Ukrainian high-ranking officials, diplomats and human rights defenders to tell the world about the death of the captured Azov fighter.
In addition, the Human Rights Center ZMINA found out that in captivity Ishchenko tried to commit suicide several times, in particular, due to severe beatings.
The bill on multiple citizenship
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated a draft law that provides for changes in ensuring the right to acquire and retain Ukrainian citizenship. In particular, it defines the cases when multiple citizenship can be obtained, and also applies to foreigners who served in the military or provided assistance to it.
The president expects that the adoption of the law will help ensure conditions for the return of citizens who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the war.
Ukrainians shot down a Russian helicopter with a drone in the air for the first time in history
The troops of the Special Operations Center "A" of the SBU were able to strike a Russian Mi-28 helicopter with a long FPV drone right in the air.
