A map of Ukraine without Crimea was discovered in a Ukrainian language textbook for 7th grade students: the publisher withdrew the edition and promised to issue a corrected version. Syrskyi: We are doing everything not to lose Pokrovsk
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in recent days, the Russians have not been able to advance near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast. There, Ukrainian units deprived Russian troops of the opportunity to maneuver.
He added that Russia has concentrated its most prepared units near Pokrovsk.
Sweden announced a new military aid package
The Swedish government presented the 17th package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of SEK 4.6 billion (about 400 million euros). It included, in particular, anti-aircraft missile systems, combat boats and spare parts for JAS 39 Gripen fighters.
184 civilians were killed in August
August became the second deadliest month for Ukrainians (since October 2022) after July — when 200 people were killed. Of the 184 dead, 10 died in the temporarily occupied territories, the rest — in the territory controlled by the government of Ukraine.

The day before, photos from the "Ukrainian language" textbook for 7th grade students, which show a map of Ukraine without Crimea, were shared online.
The publishing house that published the textbook admitted its mistake and withdrew the edition. It was noted that the situation occurred due to a technical error by the designer and an oversight by the editors during the final preparation of the publication for printing.
The publishing house assured that they would issue a corrected edition at their own expense.
Scholz: Now is the time to discuss the achievement of peace
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that in the Russo-Ukrainian war "the moment has come when it is worth discussing the way out of this war situation and achieving peace as soon as possible."
He also stated that he supported the idea of inviting Russia to the second Peace Summit.
Prime Minister of Georgia: The attorney of Ukraine was recalled because of washing machines
Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha decided to recall from Georgia the chargé d’affaires Mykhailo Kharyshyn because he was buying washing machines for the embassy, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze claims.
Newspaper Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, citing its own information, also wrote that before his dismissal, Kharyshyn raised the issue of replacing washing machines at the embassy at a meeting.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the temporary representative of Iran
Iran's chargé d’affaires in Ukraine, Shahriar Amouzegar, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was warned because of reports about Tehran's possible supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.
Orbán announced the continuation of his "peace mission"
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that his "peace mission" to settle the Russo-Ukrainian war has not yet been completed. According to him, in September they plan to present new "convincing" initiatives to achieve peace.
