Air defense downs 80 Russian drones, including not Shaheds

Overnight, Russia attacked Ukraine with 135 Shahed kamikaze drones, as well as of another, unspecified type. 80 drones were shot down by anti-aircraft defense, reported the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The UAVs were launched from Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and they were destroyed within 14 Ukrainian regions.

Interceptions were recorded in Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Kharkiv, Kherson, Volyn, and Vinnytsia oblasts.

Another 44 Russian drones went missing (probably due to countermeasures by electronic warfare), and two of them flew to Belarus. Up to 10 drones are still in the airspace of the central regions of Ukraine as combat work continues.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported "one of the most massive drone attacks on the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine." However, all the drones flying towards the capital were shot down. No casualties or damage were reported.
