Google leaks positions of Ukrainian military, Russians approaching Kurakhove: November 3 highlights

The technology giant Google has updated satellite images showing the location of Ukrainian military systems. Monitoring group DeepState reports that the Russians have captured two more settlements in Donetsk Oblast. Presidential elections were held in Moldova. We collected the main news for November 3.

DeepState: Russians occupied Kurakhivka and Shakhtarske

The DeepState monitoring group reported the occupation of Kurakhivka and Shakhtarske villages in the Kurakhove sector. The enemy is already on the approaches to Kurakhove — the main direction of attack of the aggressor on this part of the front.

However, there is no official confirmation of this information from the General Staff.

Google "leaked" the positions of Ukrainian military systems

The technological giant Google has published updated images on maps showing the location of Ukrainian military systems. After Kyiv's reaction, the corporation promised to fix everything.

After the public reaction, Google representatives assured that they are already working on correcting the situation.

Elections in Moldova

The second round of presidential elections took place in Moldova on November 3. The current President Maia Sandu and the former Prosecutor General of the country Alexandr Stoianoglo are taking part.

With 98% of the polling stations counted, incumbent President Maia Sandu won by a narrow margin, according to the data on the website of the Central Election Commission.

Sandu managed to bypass her opponent, former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, thanks to the votes of the diaspora.

The authorities of Moldova warned that Russia would try to prevent the vote. In particular, law enforcement officers are investigating the organized pick-up of citizens at a precinct abroad. There were reports of mining of foreign precincts and a bridge leading to a polling station for residents of the unrecognized Transnistria.

Ihnat confirmed that Air Force soldiers are being transferred to the infantry

Military personnel from units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are indeed sent to the infantry, but the percentage of downing of Russian drones has not decreased, said Yuriy Ihnat, head of the public relations service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

MP and secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security Roman Kostenko said that, given the current situation on the battlefield, it is necessary to mobilize 500,000 citizens.

Such a figure was mentioned in December 2023 by the then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

The former Odesa military commissar tried to get a disability status

Yevhen Borysov, the former head of the Odesa regional military commissariat, tried to form a disability group for himself, reported the news outlet Glavcom.

The former military official has been in the pre-trial detention center for about 15 months.
