Russian soldiers shot five Ukrainian prisoners who were surrounded in a house in the village of Petrivka, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk Oblast, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Before the shooting, the Russians stormed the positions of the Ukrainian military near the village, as a result of which they retreated and hid in a house. However, then the Russian troops surrounded the house and took the Ukrainians prisoner.

They were forced to lie unarmed on the ground, and after that they were shot with automatic weapons. Investigators are investigating the circumstances of a war crime combined with intentional homicide (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and those involved in its commission.
