Zelenskyy unveils new Ukrainian missile-drone Peklo

The first batch of a new Ukrainian-made missile-drone called Peklo was delivered to the Ukrainian military, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said and published a video with the munition on his social media.

"Our, Ukrainian weapons, which have already been confirmed for combat use. Today, the first batch was handed over to our Defense Forces. Now the task is to increase production and use," the president wrote and thanked those involved in defense production.

As Interfax-Ukraine writes, the Peklo missile-drone has already had five combat applications, including some successful ones. It is capable of developing a speed of up to 700 km/h and has a range of 700 km.

Recently, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the start of serial production of another Ukrainian long-range missile-drone – Palianytsia, which was used to strike the Russian military as early as August 24.

Zelenskyy said that this weapon is "much faster and more powerful" than Ukrainian long-range drones. There are 20 Russian airfields within the range of the Palianytsia.

The drone-missile costs less than $1 million, but Ukraine is working on reducing the cost of the weapon, said Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
