Plant that produces Tu-900 aircraft in Russia's Tatarstan may have been hit. Several airports closed because of drone attack

On the morning of January 20, Tatarstan, Russia, came under attack by drones. As a result, airports in some cities were closed, reported the Russian Telegram channel Astra.

In particular, explosions were heard in the city of Kazan. Rosaviatsiya, the Federal Air Transport Agency, announced that the local airport would temporarily not accept or send flights. In addition, the airport in Nizhnekamsk was closed.

Meanwhile, online users suggest that the drones targeted the sanctioned Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Plant in Tatarstan, where Tu-160 strategic missile carriers and Tu-22M3M/Tu-22M3 long-range bombers are manufactured and repaired. One of the drones allegedly hit an empty tank on the plant's territory.

The press service of the head of Tatarstan stated that the republic's industrial enterprises were under attack, Astra writes. However, all the drones were allegedly shot down, and there were no casualties or damage.
