Ukraine faced a widespread Russian missile and drone assault overnight into Friday, March 7, with the enemy targeting energy and gas infrastructure across multiple regions, though civilian objects were also hit, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Halushchenko reported.

“Where possible, rescuers and energy workers are addressing the fallout. All necessary steps are being taken to stabilize energy and gas supplies,” he said.

Halushchenko warned that the energy system’s situation could shift.

Around dawn, Russians struck a civilian business in Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov and regional administration head Oleg Synegubov.

Rescuers pulled a woman alive from the rubble; medics examined her. Search and rescue efforts continue.

The strike sparked a fire, damaged a nearby apartment building — prompting evacuations — and set cars ablaze.

Five people were injured, including a 65-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man who were hospitalized.

On the evening of March 6, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported Russian attacks on Odesa Oblast, igniting fires in three private homes and damaging critical infrastructure. No injuries were reported there.

Ternopil Oblast saw missile hits on a key industrial site, said regional administration head Viacheslav Negoda, warning of possible gas supply limits.

In Poltava Oblast’s Myrhorod district, Poltava Oblast Military Administration said debris from a downed target crashed into a private home, injuring two people — including a child — who were hospitalized.

Two homes and a household gas pipeline were also damaged.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast faced strikes on infrastructure, per regional head Svitlana Onyshchuk, though initial reports show no casualties or destruction.

Poland, Ukraine’s neighbor, scrambled aircraft in response to the attack, its armed forces’ operational command said. Ground air defenses and radar systems were put on high alert.

As of 7:08 a.m., air raid sirens blared nationwide in Ukraine.
