Russia strikes Kryvyi Rih with exploding missile, killing at least 18

A Russian ballistic missile with an airburst detonation struck Kryvyi Rih late on Friday, killing at least 18 people, including nine children, in a deliberate bid to maximize casualties, said Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration.
“These are special missiles with airburst detonation to harm as many people as possible,” he said.
The strike hit near a children’s playground, leaving 18 dead—among them nine children—and a rising toll of at least 56 injured, with 39 currently hospitalized, many in serious or critical condition.
The attack damaged 29 apartment buildings, triggering an ongoing rescue operation involving the State Emergency Service, police, and municipal workers. A 24/7 aid headquarters has been set up.
Hours later, overnight into April 5, Russia struck again with drones, igniting fires at four sites in the city.
