Drones hit Russia's Kursk, killing one and injuring nine
A drone attack targeted the Russian city of Kursk overnight into April 15, hitting residential buildings and causing fires, according to Russian Telegram channels Baza, Astra, and Mash.
Local residents reported hearing at least 10 explosions in the city. One drone crashed into a multi-story apartment building, sparking a fire. Private homes also sustained damage.
The operational headquarters of Kursk Oblast said an 85-year-old woman died and nine others were injured in the attack. Russian authorities attributed the strike to Ukraine.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it shot down 115 drones, including 109 over Kursk Oblast, three over Voronezh Oblast, and one each over Moscow, Bryansk, and Oryol oblasts.
Kyiv has not officially commented on the incident.
