Drones target Bryansk’s Kremniy EL factory, key Russian arms supplier
A massive drone attack on Bryansk Oblast took place in the early hours of April 28, with the Kremniy EL factory, a critical producer of military microelectronics for Russia’s Pantsir air defense systems and Iskander missile systems, among the targets, Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported.
The attack damaged infrastructure and civilian objects, resulting in one fatality and one injury.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed its air defenses intercepted or destroyed 102 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Bryansk Oblast.
Russian Telegram channel Astra reported that the Kremniy EL factory sustained direct hits.
This plant has been attacked before. After the attack in October 2024, it even suspended operations. The plant was also attacked in January 2025: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine called it "one of the key enterprises of the microelectronic industry in Russia."

This is one of the largest suppliers of military microelectronics and the second largest producer of all Russian microelectronics.
According to Defense Express, since 2010, the Russian government has allocated $5.5 million annually for the development of this enterprise. In 2014, the enterprise reported that since 2000, it has increased its production output by 8 times.
This plant also participates in the Russian state program "Alternative" and is engaged in the development of new radars on active phased arrays using a new element base, which are intended for air defense, aircraft, and ships.
