Drones hit Russia’s Oryol Oblast, target semiconductor plant
Drones attacked Bolkhov in Russia’s Oryol Oblast overnight into Wednesday, likely targeting a semiconductor plant, with Governor Andrey Klychkov reporting no casualties but claiming 37 drones were downed.
Klychkov initially stated 11 drones were shot down over Oryol Oblast, later claiming an additional 26 were destroyed, asserting no injuries or deaths occurred.
Social media videos suggested the Bolkhov Semiconductor Plant, which produces microchips, semiconductors, and components for radio-electronic equipment, was hit.
This plant specializes in the production of electronics for electronic devices. It also produces microcircuits, semiconductors, and "eternal batteries."
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 127 drones had been shot down, and blamed Ukraine for the attack. Kyiv has not yet commented on this information.
