Russia attacks Ukraine with 90 drones, targeting frontline areas

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 90 Shahed drones and decoys overnight, focusing on frontline targets, with Ukrainian air defenses downing 56 and one civilian killed in Sumy Oblast, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

The Air Force said 56 drones were neutralized in eastern and northern regions by 9:30 a.m., 10 were destroyed by other means, and 46 were lost to radar or electronic warfare.

"The peculiarity of the air strike is that the targets were attacked in the frontline areas," the Air Force noted.

Hits were confirmed at nine frontline locations.

In Sumy Oblast, strikes hit civilian targets in Bilopillia, Verkhnia Syrovatka, Richky, and Nedryhailiv communities, killing one person and critically injuring another, with homes and agricultural warehouses damaged, according to the Sumy Oblast Military Administration.

Kharkiv regional governor Oleg Synegubov reported attacks on nine settlements, damaging civilian infrastructure but causing no casualties.

Donetsk Oblast also faced strikes.
