Ukraine's air defense neutralizes 61 of 95 Russian drones

In the early hours of June 4, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 95 Shahed strike drones and various decoy UAVs. Ukraine's air defense systems successfully neutralized 61 of these targets, as reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that enemy drones were launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. The primary targets of the aerial assault were the Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Donetsk oblasts.

The aerial attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.

As a result of these defensive efforts, 61 enemy drones, including Shahed drones and other types, were neutralized across the eastern, southern, and northern parts of the country. Specifically, 36 drones were shot down by firepower, and 25 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare means.

Despite these efforts, there were impacts from the enemy's aerial assault recorded in seven locations.
