Ukraine shoots down 88 Russian drones in overnight assault
Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 104 kamikaze Shahed drones and various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. The country's air defenses successfully neutralized 88 targets.
The aggressor launched the drones from Millerovo, Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air assault was repelled by Ukraine's aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
According to the Air Force, 40 drones were shot down by firepower, while 48 were lost and suppressed by electronic warfare means.
Impacts were recorded at six locations.
