The death toll from Russian missile attacks on Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Oblast rose to 17, with over 200 people injured, including 19 children, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) and the prosecutor’s office.

SES Dnipropetrovsk Oblast spokesperson Serhiy Kovtoniuk said 15 deaths occurred in Dnipro city and two in Samar. Over 100 people remain hospitalized, he added. Rescue operations continue, involving more than 100 rescuers and 35 units of equipment.

Police reported damage to over 220 cars and motorcycles, a children’s hospital, a kindergarten, a nine-story building, and an enterprise.

Russian forces struck Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with missiles during on Tuesday. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov called it “perhaps one of the most audacious strikes” on the city during the full-scale war.

The attack damaged infrastructure, schools, medical facilities, administrative buildings, SES structures, and a passenger train. Preliminary reports indicate 46 apartment buildings, 41 private homes, several dormitories, over 100 vehicles, a gas station, a car service center, outbuildings, market stalls, and shops were affected. In Samar, an infrastructure facility was hit.

The train, carrying over 500 passengers, had five cars destroyed.

Throughout the day, Russian forces also attacked the Nikopol district, targeting the district center, Marhanets, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrov territorial communities. A 74-year-old woman was injured.
