Drones and missiles attacked occupied Donetsk, Luhansk and some regions of Russia
In the early hours of Tuesday, temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk came under drone and missile attacks, with explosions also reported in several Russian regions, according to various Russian Telegram channels, including Astra, SHOT, and Mash.
Denis Pushilin, head of the occupation administration in Donetsk Oblast, reported that the attack allegedly killed one person and injured three others in the city of Donetsk. He claimed the strikes damaged a market, residential buildings, and a central department store.
Meanwhile, several Ukrainian OSINT resources reported that a building in Donetsk, likely used for producing drones and electronic warfare equipment, was hit. Sources also indicated that the strikes on Donetsk were carried out using missiles.
Additionally, the nearby occupied town of Yasynuvata was targeted, with reports of strikes on a local railway.
In Luhansk, drones triggered a large-scale fire, likely at a local oil depot, following the attack.
Explosions were also reported in Russia’s Rostov Oblast, near Rostov, Novoshakhtinsk, and Taganrog. Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slusar claimed all drones attempting to attack the region were shot down.
Drone attacks were also reported in Saratov Oblast, particularly in Engels, home to an airfield hosting Russia’s strategic aviation.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it downed 60 drones allegedly launched by Ukraine. Kyiv has not commented on the incident.
