In the early hours of Thursday, Russian forces attacked Odesa with Shahed strike drones, hitting a residential high-rise, according to city mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov and regional governor Oleh Kiper.

The attack damaged civilian infrastructure, including the residential building, where a fire broke out on the 7th to 9th floors.

The State Emergency Service reported that four people were initially injured. Rescuers evacuated 50 residents, saving 10 using specialized equipment.

As of 7:43 a.m., Oleh Kiper reported the number of injured rose to five. The attack completely destroyed six apartments and partially damaged 36 others.

Among the injured were two children—a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl—hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Adult victims received medical care and are continuing treatment on an outpatient basis.

Mayor Trukhanov confirmed that three of the injured were hospitalized. The SES set up a point of invincibility at the scene, and psychologists are providing support to affected residents.
