Russia launches over 500 UAVs, 11 missiles into Ukraine in yet another mass attack

Russian forces conducted a massive overnight attack on Ukraine, using drones and missiles, with Ukrainian air defenses neutralizing 478 targets, the Air Force of Ukraine reported.

In total, Russian forces deployed 550 air attack assets:

  • 539 Shahed strike drones and various decoy drones (over 330 were Shaheds) launched from Russian regions including Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • One Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile from Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast;
  • Six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Bryansk Oblast;
  • Four Iskander-K cruise missiles from Russia’s Kursk and Voronezh oblasts.

The attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups.

Preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m. indicates that air defenses neutralized 478 targets, including two Iskander-K cruise missiles, 268 downed drones, and 208 drones lost or suppressed by EW measures.

The primary target was Kyiv, with strikes recorded in eight locations (nine missiles and 63 drones) and debris falling in 33 locations across Ukraine.

In Kyiv, 23 people were injured, and debris was reported in five districts. Damaged infrastructure included railway lines, causing passenger trains to be rerouted and delayed by up to two hours.

In Kyiv Oblast, missile strikes caused significant damage to residential and industrial areas in the Fastiv region.

In Poltava Oblast, the regional administration reported that drone debris in the Kremenchuk district damaged the roof and windows of a residential building, injuring two people who were hospitalized.

In the Znamyanka community of Kirovohrad Oblast, a residential building was damaged, and a 52-year-old woman received medical treatment, according to regional governor Andriy Raykovich.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, governor Serhiy Lysak reported that the attack damaged a private house and two garages in the Mohyliv territorial community.
