Drones target Tula Oblast, debris damages nitrogen plant
In the early hours of Thursday, Tula Oblast came under attack from strike drones, with a possible hit on a nitrogen plant, according to regional governor Dmitry Milyaev.
Milyaev claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted three drones over the region, but debris fell onto an industrial facility, likely the Shchekinoazot plant in Shchekino.
The Shchekinoazot plant produces nitrogen, used in rocket fuel and aviation additives, as well as explosives synthesis, ammonia, ammonia water, formalin, and urea-formaldehyde concentrate.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that 122 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight across various regions. Ukraine has not officially commented on the incident.
