Drones hit Rostov Oblast, railway and power plant targeted
In the early hours of Wednesday, Russia’s Rostov Oblast came under drone attack, with explosions reported across multiple settlements, according to acting governor Yuri Slusar.
Slyusar stated that drones struck Novocherkassk, Shakhty, and the Myasnikovsky, Rodionovo-Nesvetaysky, and Aksaysky districts. In Novocherkassk, three people were reportedly injured, two of whom were on Vokzalnaya Street.
According to the Russian Telegram channel Astra and OSINT resources, the attack in Novocherkassk targeted the local railway.
Additionally, the Novocherkassk State District Power Plant (GRES) and a Rostelecom facility were likely hit.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 33 drones were shot down overnight across the country. Ukraine, accused of the attack, has not yet commented on the events.
