Ukraine downs 82 of Russia’s 108 strike drones in overnight assault
Russian forces launched an attack on Ukrainian regions with 108 drones overnight, with air defenses neutralizing 82 targets, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
The assault involved 104 Shahed attack drones, decoy drones of various types, and eight high-speed (jet-powered) drones launched from five directions: Shatalovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups.
By 8:00 a.m., preliminary data showed that air defenses had downed or suppressed 82 targets: three jet-powered drones and 79 other drones across northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine.
However, 26 drones struck 10 locations, with debris falling in eight others.
In Kyiv Oblast’s Bucha district, three women aged 16, 56, and 80 were injured, and civilian infrastructure, including private homes and a kindergarten, was damaged, according to Bucha mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk.
In the Sumy territorial community, a 54-year-old man was injured, with damage reported to non-residential buildings, a store, and a vehicle.
Strikes also hit the Shostka community in Sumy Oblast.
