Russia struck Kharkiv’s Industrialnyi district with a missile and drones overnight into Monday, resulting in four deaths and more than 20 injured, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, and regional governor Oleg Synegubov.

Initially, a missile hit the ground near a residential area, injuring 11 people, including a 13-year-old child, all of whom also experienced acute stress reactions.

The blast wave shattered over 1,000 windows in apartment buildings, damaging more than 10 multi-story residential structures and five parked cars.

In the early morning, Russian drones struck the city, with one hitting a multi-story apartment building in the same Industrialnyi district. The Shahed drone caused fires in two sections of the building: one fire spread across the second to fourth floors, while another engulfed the top floor.

As of 7:58 AM, four fatalities were confirmed, including a 55-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man, and a 1.5-year-old girl—not a two-year-old boy as initially reported, Synegubov clarified. The body of a 16-year-old boy was recently found under the rubble.

Russian forces struck the five-story building with four Geran-2 drones.

The number of injured from the drone attack reached 18, including boys aged 10, 6, and 16, and girls aged 6 and 17.

Preliminary reports indicate that rescuers extracted a woman from the rubble, who may be the mother of the deceased boy.

As of 8:09 AM, five people are currently considered missing following the attack in the Industrialnyi district and may be trapped under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

The previous evening, a Russian ballistic missile also struck the city of Sumy, causing no injuries but damaging an educational institution’s buildings, including its facade, windows, and doors.
