Germany will provide Ukraine with 9 billion euros ($10.5 billion) annually in the coming years, Vice-Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil announced during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

“As finance minister, I emphasized, and this has been agreed by the federal government, that we are committed to supporting Ukraine in the coming years by allocating 9 billion euros annually,” Klingbeil stated.

Klingbeil also met with Ukraine’s Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko to discuss securing sufficient financial resources for Ukraine in 2026.

According to Marchenko, Germany has provided 1.6 billion euros ($1.9 billion) in direct budget support to Ukraine since 2022.

“Germany’s support for the EU’s Ukraine Facility instrument, through which 22.6 billion euros ($26.4 billion) have been allocated to the state budget, and the ERA mechanism, which provided 9 billion euros ($10.5 billion) from the EU, is also significant,” Marchenko wrote.

Previously, Germany and Norway agreed to fund two Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine. Additionally, Germany announced it would finance a $500 million package of military equipment and munitions from the U.S. for Ukraine.
