Russian shelling traps 148 miners in Donbas

On Tuesday afternoon, Russian forces shelled Donetsk Oblast, causing power outages at local mines, according to Mykhailo Volynets, head of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine.

Volynets reported that the shelling de-energized mines in the Dobropillia territorial community, leaving 148 miners trapped underground. Neither he nor local authorities provided further details.

Situation in the region

Donetsk Oblast Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin reported that Russian forces attacked Donbas settlements 20 times in the past day. In Dobropillia, part of the Kryvorizhzhia community, two houses were damaged.

In Yampil, one person was killed and one injured.

In Kostiantynivka, four people were wounded, with 21 apartment buildings, two administrative buildings, a bank, and two power lines damaged.

In Siversk, six houses were damaged due to Russian attacks.

Over the past day, 550 people, including 119 children, were evacuated from the frontline.
