Ukrainian air defenses repel Russian drone attack, neutralize 74 targets

Overnight, Russian forces launched 95 attack drones, including Shahed UAVs and decoy drones, targeting Ukraine from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukrainian air defenses, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups, neutralized 74 drones across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.

Twenty-one drones struck nine locations, causing damage.

Consequences of the attack

Sumy and Poltava oblasts faced intense drone attacks.

In Sumy, parts of the city lost electricity, and water utility facilities, de-energized by the strikes, were switched to emergency backup power.

In Poltava Oblast, an energy sector facility sustained damage to its administrative building, vehicles, and equipment, with fires breaking out at the site.
