Ukrainian defenders down 46 Russian drones in overnight attack
Overnight into Friday, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 68 unmanned aerial vehicles, with Ukrainian air defenses neutralizing 46 of them, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The drones were launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Preliminary reports indicate that air defenses shot down or suppressed 46 Russian Shahed drones and various decoy drones in northern and eastern Ukraine.
22 drones struck nine locations in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
