Ukraine likely used Flamingo missiles for first time to strike Russian targets in Crimea

Ukraine appears to have employed its advanced Flamingo missiles for the first time against Russian targets, striking Federal Security Service (FSB) facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea, according to the Militarnyi portal, citing sources in military circles.

The missiles targeted an FSB outpost and patrol boats near Armyansk on the morning of August 30.

A video of the attack was likely shared by the military Telegram channel Nikolaevsky Vanyok.

The Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reported the attack but claimed it involved Neptune missiles, a claim Militarnyi refuted.

According to ASTRA, the strike damaged at least six Russian patrol boats and killed one Russian soldier. ASTRA also noted that the attack involved drones, which reportedly damaged two Russian helicopters—a Mi-8 and a Mi-24—a finding corroborated by other OSINT sources.

No official confirmation of the “Flamingo” missile strike has been issued.
