Russian forces again target Ukraine’s energy system, striking Kyiv Oblast facility — Energy Ministry

A thermal power generation facility in Kyiv Oblast came under heavy Russian attack, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy reported on Monday.

“The goal is clear—to inflict even greater hardships on Ukraine’s civilian population, leaving Ukrainian homes, hospitals, kindergartens, and schools without electricity and heat,” the ministry stated.

It emphasized that power generation facilities, transmission and distribution systems, and gas infrastructure are not military targets.

Rescuers and energy workers are currently addressing the aftermath of the attack.

“We are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible. We will provide updates on any changes in energy supply,” the ministry noted.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported drone movements over Kyiv Oblast overnight on Sunday.
