Ukrainian air defenses neutralize 60 of 84 Russian drones in overnight assault

Russian troops attacked Ukrainian regions overnight with 84 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, with defenses neutralizing 60 targets, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported.
The aggressor launched the drones, over 50 of which were Shaheds, from four directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups repelled the assault.
Preliminary data as of 8:30 a.m. indicates air defenses shot down or suppressed 60 Shaheds, Gerberas, and other drones across Ukraine’s north, south, and east. 23 strike drones hit 10 locations.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, said Russian forces launched a large number of drones at Zaporizhzhia over a 20-minute period overnight. Most were downed before reaching the city.
However, two drones struck private homes. One house was completely destroyed, and another had its doors and windows blown out. A 66-year-old woman in the city was injured and received medical assistance.
Fedorov noted that Russian forces attack Zaporizhzhia Oblast every two to three minutes, primarily targeting frontline settlements.
