Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems struck 66,500 Russian targets in September 2025, a 10.8% increase from August, Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on Tuesday.

Of those hits, 39,200 came from kamikaze drones. Syrskyi added that the operations killed or wounded 18,159 Russian troops over the month.

"The number of missions carried out by robotic ground systems nearly doubled, showing growing attention from commanders to this key component of unmanned systems," the army commander noted.

Ukraine maintains the edge in FPV drone use, even as Russians push to close the gap, Syrskyi stressed.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are expanding unmanned systems units and launching a recruitment drive for them.

In August, Ukrainian drones hit more than 67,000 Russian military targets, including 60 sites inside Russia using long-range Deep Strike drones.
