Russian drones kill 4 in Chernihiv Oblast town attack

Russian troops targeted the town of Novhorod-Siverskyi in Ukraine's Chernihiv Oblast with strike drones on Tuesday, killing four civilians and wounding at least seven, including a 10-year-old child, regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus reported.

Chaus said about 20 strikes were recorded in the town. The dead included two men and two women.

As of 4:40 p.m., at least seven people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl being transported to a children's regional hospital. One wounded person is in serious condition; the others are in moderate condition.

Chaus added that preliminary reports indicate extensive destruction in the town.

Chernihiv Oblast has faced massive Russian drone attacks. The regional administration said 51 aerial targets were detected over the area in the past day, including two ballistic missiles. Power outages hit the northern part of the region, including Chernihiv city itself, due to Russian strikes.

Critical infrastructure has switched to generators. Additionally, 262 invincibility points have been set up across the region, where people can charge devices and warm up.

The Energy Ministry said power restoration work cannot begin because of ongoing Russian drone attacks.
