Russia launches 128 drones on Ukraine; 72 downed

Russian troops attacked Ukrainian regions with 128 Shahed strike drones, Gerbera and other unmanned aerial vehicles overnight into Friday, Ukraine's Air Force Command reported. Air defenses neutralized 72 drones.
The aggressor launched the drones from six directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk Oblast, and Chauda and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 90 were Shaheds.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems subunits and mobile fire groups repelled the air assault.
As of 9 a.m., preliminary data show air defense shot down or suppressed 72 drones in the north, south and east. At the same time, 47 strike UAVs hit 10 locations.
The attack continues, with several Russian drones in Ukrainian airspace.
Attack aftermath
In Kirovohrad Oblast, Russia struck critical infrastructure, including rail facilities. Nineteen settlements lost power.
Russians attacked Kherson several times, with one Shahed hitting a high-rise. Three people were wounded in the city overall.
Sumy Oblast police said that Russian strike drones targeted rail infrastructure in the Konotop district, damaging a bridge and tracks over a river.
FPV drones and artillery also hit the Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In the Pavlohrad and Synelnykove districts, drones struck infrastructure, regional governor Vladyslav Hayvanenko said.
Due to the massive strikes, Ukrzaliznytsia announced changes to train schedules in the Kirovohrad, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.
